Saga of Tanya the Evil

Saga of Tanya the Evil, is an anime/manga series. The anime series first released in January 2017 with season one. Season two of the show started premiering in July 2026.  

The series follows a young girl named Tanya Degurechaff, a reincarnated office worker, who is a Lieutenant coronal and mage for the fictional country called The Empire.

“Those who can adapt to the sudden paradigm shift and a new environment do. Obey the rules. Search for the loopholes. Sneer at the guidelines despite being bound by them. In the end, everyone learns that the rules are necessary to make the system run smoothly,” says series writer Carlo Zen.

The countries in this world are based on real life ones, like Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. Throughout the series, we watch as she  leads her army into brutal battles on the eastern and western front. She eventually becomes known as the devil of the Rhine, because of her strategic thinking and incredible abilities, and terrifying reputation. This continuously places her on the front lines of major battles. During the story, she struggles not just against enemy forces, but Being X (God), who both challenge her fate. Even though she wants to avoid unnecessary danger, her success on the battlefield keeps bringing her deeper in the war.

“This show was amazing, it’s action packed and thrilling. I loved the intense magical warfare, and dark twist on the isekai genre.” said sophomore Benjamin Loucks 

“I really enjoyed the Saga of Tanya the Evil, it has a lot of action and interesting war strategies. I’d definitely recommend it.” said sophomore Damien Gissable

I really enjoyed this show, and would highly recommend it, especially to anyone who likes fantasy war series. I think that it does a good job showing how brutal and dangerous war is, but also showing how much strategic planning goes towards each battle. Each battle was exciting to watch, because you don’t know what’s going to happen next. Overall I have really enjoyed this show, it has a mix of action, strategy, and storytelling. I would highly recommend it.
