The Moreau Catholic fall sports season is filled with incredible athletes competing in a variety of different sports on the JV and Varsity levels. The fall sports are football, girls’/boys’ water polo, girls’ volleyball, girls’ tennis, rally squad, and girls’ golf. Let’s take a look at where all the Mariner fall sports teams currently stand, as of Thursday, September 25:
Football – MEN
Football has always been one of the most popular sports in high school across America. This is especially true for Mariners who always get a great crowd under the Friday night lights at Al Vermail Field. As CIF State Champions, the Mariners hope to defend their title. Despite challenges, they are determined to win and show out to Mariner Nation. Check out this article by editors Tyler Senner and Ronnie Amey to see how two senior team captains are approaching their final year of high school football.

Water Polo – MEN/WOMEN
No pool? No problem. Moreau Catholic men’s and women’s water polo teams are still up and running for the 2025 season. Women’s water polo finished strong last year, making it to the NCS Division 2 brackets last year, and looking to improve this year. The boys are still developing their skill set with a committed and dedicated varsity roster.

Tennis – WOMEN
Tennis introduces its players to rapid decision-making, hand-eye coordination skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Women’s tennis is composed of both singles and doubles, and they made it into NCS last season. As they continue to improve their skill set, they set out to make it to NCS again this season.

Rally Squad – WOMEN
Cheerleading, dancing, stunting, and tumbling are skills Rally Squad showcases during school rallies, football & basketball games, as well as competitions led by USA Spirit. Rally Squad aims to bring spirit and fun to events and engage the crowd with personality and wild performances. With beautiful uniforms and gold pom-poms, you can not miss a Rally Squad member!

Cross Country – MEN/WOMEN
Cross-country involves a lot of running in difficult weather, but that does not discourage the athletes! They recently had the opportunity to compete in Hawaii at the Iolani Invitational. Check out this article by Sports Editor Maya McComb to learn more about their preparation and their trip.

Volleyball- WOMEN
Set, spike, serve! The Moreau Catholic Volleyball team trains hard to compete at a high level! The team consistently scores 25 points to win sets in critical games. Be sure to cheer on the Moreau Catholic Girls Volleyball program throughout the season.
