What are teens doing on Halloween nowadays? Is Trick or Treating even worth it to them? What about dressing up, is it too corny?

Well, according to students at Moreau Catholic High School, Trick or Treating is still the move! In a Halloween survey sent out to Mariners, 73 percent responded that they are going to Trick or Treat this year.

It seems like eating candy is still worthy of leaving the house after all! Unless the candy is Candy Corn, Twizzlers, Almond Joy or Tootsie Roll. Mariners say that these candies can stay on the shelves at Walmart. And don’t even think about putting Dots in freshman Nikhil Chandra’s candy basket.

Chandra claims,“Dots are the worst Halloween candy. They are too sticky, and take 10 years to get out of your teeth. Also, if you ever manage to taste them after all that chewing, you get a repulsive medicinal taste that makes actual medicine taste like candy in comparison. Dots try to be candy, but in reality, they are blue tack.”

Most Mariners like chocolates. Snickers, Hershey, KitKat, but that’s enough about candy. Another popular activity Mariners are participating in at this time of year is partying. 56 percent  responded “yes” to attending a party this year, which mostly consisted of upperclassmen.

It’s impossible to go to a party, Trick or Treat, or engage in any Halloween activity without a costume, and Mariners know that. 95 percent are dressing up, which will be fun to see this Halloween. It seems that 5 percent love the school uniform along with staying inside during spooky season.

And while most costumes are great, some have become too repetitive and boring over the years. According to Moreau students, prisoners, inflatables, Ghostfaces, and Lorax costumes need to lay low. If that was a planned costume for this year, it’s time to get more creative. If any ideas are needed, dressing up as a meme is very creative and hilarious if people catch your reference.

That’s a wrap on this year’s Halloweekend weekend! What are you dressing up as for Halloween? Are you still debating whether to Trick or Treat or not? Leave a comment and add a response to the poll below!
