Moreau’s annual Homecoming Dance, this year being themed: A Night at the Bayou, was held on October 25. The dance was filled with excitement, dancing and activities. But most importantly of all, filled with a wide range of music!
While the dance was coming up, a Google Sheet was sent out to all Mariners, letting students put their own song requests by sharing a YouTube link, along with the song title and artist. By the time Homecoming rolled around, a total of 267 suggestions were in the sheet!
The list had a very wide and diverse range of genres and artists. R&B, Hip-hop and pop were the most popular genres that the Mariners chose, but other genres like indie, disco, and reggae were mentioned, too.
The most popular artists in the homecoming suggestion lists were: Usher, Drake, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, and Chris Brown were all tied with 8 song suggestions each.

Following up artists were Keyshia Cole and Ashanti, both tied with 5 suggestions.
The list was sorted, and only a certain number of songs were chosen and played.
A lot of song choices got the crowd hyped, but here are a chosen list of songs that got the dance floor more excited than ever:
- Party in the U.S.A (Miley Cyrus)
- Teach me how to Dougie (Cali Swag District)
- Cha Cha Slide (DJ Casper)
- Snap Yo Fingers (Lil Jon)
- Soak City (310babii)
- Tell Me When to go (E-40)
The majority, if not all the songs during our annual homecoming dance were student chosen, and from peer to peer, everybody had a great time. Whether you were on the dance floor, outside getting some snacks, or on the bleachers enjoying boba, we had an amazing time at homecoming, and can’t wait to see your music choices for next year.
