Inside Moreau Catholic’s Spirit Week 2025: The Ultimate Class Showdown!

The highly anticipated Moreau Catholic Spirit Week 2025 concluded on October 25th — and the Senior Sambas finished on top!
The overall competition was incredibly close, with only 130 points separating first place from last. Let’s break down the points and see what helped the Seniors secure their first-ever win!
Decorations:
Months of painting and preparation culminated in an intense finish on Thursday, October 26, as students from each class spent four hours setting up their individual hallways in hopes of earning the maximum number of decoration points. The Juniors came out on top in this category with a score of 665 out of 700!

Skit and Dance:
The next major part of Spirit Week is the class skit performed during the rallies. The Sophomores and Juniors kicked off their performances on Tuesday. The Sophomores highlighted the true theme of Lilo and Stitch by emphasizing the phrase “ohana means family,” while the Juniors’ skit focused on helping others through dance and learning about different cultures through their performances.
The Frosh made their debut that Thursday with a high-energy skit about racing to the finish line, filled with laughter and fun. After them, the Seniors performed their final skit and dance inspired by the movie Rio, featuring participation from the majority of the class.
The Seniors ended up taking home the win in both Skit and Dance!

Spirit:

Dress-up days:
Spirit Week dress-up days are a favorite for Mariners—it’s a chance to show creativity and class pride through themed outfits instead of Moreau gear.
This year, the dress-up day themes were:

- Class theme or Class T-shirt
- Teacher Student Switch
- Generations Day

Homecoming Football + Dance:
Spirit Week concluded with the Homecoming Football Game on Friday and the Dance on Saturday. Attendance at both events added crucial points to the final class scores.

Other point categories included the Moreau Student Fundraiser, where the Frosh took first place with a staggering 600 points! Additional categories included the SJL/Interact Student Fundraiser, Hallway Clean-Up, T-Shirt Sale, Promo, and Makers Lab.
The 2025 Spirit Week competition is officially over, but great memories were made across the entire school!
