Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, better known as Coachella, is one of the biggest and most popular music festivals throughout the world. Held each spring in Indio, California, the event spans two weekends in April and brings together a massive lineup of artists performing across genres like pop, hip-hop, rock, electronic, and indie, to name a few. Over the years, Coachella has grown beyond just a music festival and has become a global cultural moment, known for its influencer presence, iconic fashion, and unforgettable performances.

Spread across 642 acres in the Coachella Valley, the festival offers more than music, showcasing large-scale art installations that are spread out across the grounds, displaying an immersive gallery with creative pieces that perfectly express the culture and essence of Coachella. Attendees also enjoy a wide variety of food vendors and brand pop-ups, creating an experience that blends music, art, and lifestyle all in one place.
This year’s Coachella made history by breaking its attendance record! The festival drew 750,000 attendees over the span of two weekends. The massive turnout highlights the festival’s rapid growth and influence on global entertainment.

Headliners Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G drew huge crowds for their nighttime shows and didn’t disappoint, while artists like Addison Rae, KATSEYE, and Young Thug made their festival debuts.
An average of 50 performers per day allowed people to pick and choose their schedules and which artist they wanted to catch. The crowds for the three headliners got thousands of people and millions more online via live stream from YouTube, with Justin Bieber hitting 10.59 million concurrent viewers.
Speaking of Justin Bieber, his performance sparked a lot of controversy on the internet. Many argued whether his YouTube karaoke routine, where he sang along to aired music videos from his early career and brought up humorous memes, was worth the time or not. Nonetheless, his enormous showcase brought in 77 million global streams in 24 hours post-performance and a 280 percent spike in total Spotify streams.
On Coachella Weekend 2, Billie Eilish, a “die-hard fan” of Bieber, was stunned to be pushed on stage by his wife, Hailey Bieber, during the song “One Last Lonely Girl.” Eilish has always looked up to Bieber as a child and only dreamed of a moment like this. Throughout her career, Bieber acted as a mentor to Eilish regarding the pressures of fame. This momentous event encapsulates the “full-circle” story, as Eilish was a devoted “Belieber” growing up and had the chance to unite with him on stage.

Many spectators, in-person and online, are calling this year’s Coachella Festival nostalgic, especially after Week 1’s routines. Timeless hits like Billy Idol’s “Eyes Without a Face”, Sombr’s cover of “Fake Plastic Trees” by Radiohead, and The Strokes’ “The Adults Are Talking” were sung along by thousands.
This year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival didn’t just stand out—it set a new benchmark for music festivals, defining the standard for scale, energy, and cultural impact. The combination of nostalgic music, big-name artists, iconic styles, and major brand collaborations left a lasting impression on both attendees and online audiences. Ultimately, Coachella 2026 has raised expectations to new heights, leaving next year’s lineup with the challenge of trying to outdo a festival that delivered on every level.
